Melissa Marston

Melissa grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2001. She lived in London, worked in the legal profession, and travelled as much as she could until 2012 when her first child was born.

During these years Melissa always had an interest in nutrition. In 2009 she embarked on a BSc degree in Nutritional Therapy with the UK College of Nutrition and Health and the University of Greenwich. She graduated 6 years (and another child) later with first class honours.

Her passion for nutritional therapy is driven by a fascination with the human body. Core to this is how nutrients, or a deficiency of nutrients, can affect general health . As is the impact of nutrients on our ability to fight disease. Also nutrients as contributing factors in
complex food intolerances and auto-immune conditions.

Melissa’s interest in gut health began soon after she started practicing. She quickly realised that the root cause of many diseases or health issues could be traced back to the gut. This includes malabsorption of nutrients. As well as systemic inflammatory conditions such as eczema, poor detoxification, hormonal imbalances.

Expertise

She enjoys working with a variety of health issues. Notably inflammatory bowel diseases, auto-immune conditions such as Hashimoto’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis, IBS, SIBO, and Histamine related conditions. Melissa approaches each new case with care, compassion and enthusiasm. She never ceases to wonder at how life-changing the right nutritional intervention can be for her clients.
